Key Facts

East Renfrewshire local authority borders Glasgow, East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire, Renfrewshire and South Lanarkshire. Within the area there is a higher rate of children and young people, a lower rate of working age residents and a higher rate of elderly residents compared to the Scottish average.

At a meeting of the Integration Joint Board in March of 2019 new arrangements for the oversight of clinical and care governance within the health and social care partnership were agreed, bringing together a range of representatives, including the chief social work officer, pharmacy lead and chief nurse.

East Renfrewshire health and social care partnership’s strategic plan for 2018-2021 was approved in April 2018 and states to meet ‘a range of challenges presented by pressures on our finances and our growing and ageing population, we must fundamentally change the way we work together.’
