Josephine Robertson, a former occupational therapist, has been appointed Shetland Islands Council and NHS Shetland’s interim joint director of community health and social care.

Ms Robertson has also been announced as the new chief officer for the Shetland Integration Joint Board – the body established to oversee the integration and delivery of health and social care services.

Her most recent post was executive manager of allied health professionals where Ms Robertson managed staff across both the local council and health board. She is due to take up her new post on Monday 13th May.

The council’s chief executive, Maggie Sandison, said: “This is a tremendous appointment for both organisations; Josephine will be a welcome addition to our senior management team.”

Current chief officer, Simon Bokor-Ingram added: “My congratulations to Jo, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role, and has a really good understanding of working as a joint manager across the NHS and SIC.”
