The National Care Service team at the Scottish government is issuing an open invitation to people with an interest in shaping future social care in Scotland to take part in an event later this month.

This year’s National Care Service Forum, which will take place on Wednesday 19 November at Edinburgh International Conference Centre. There is also the opportunity to join online.

The agenda features guest speakers, a live panel and dynamic discussions on how regulations in the Care Reform (Scotland) Act will be implemented and next steps for social care reform in Scotland.

The Forum is open to anyone who has an interest or lived experience within social care, social work and community health services.

The meeting will be opened by Susan Douglas-Scott, Chair of the interim NCS Advisory Board who will be followed by keynote speaker, Tom Arthur MSP, Minister for Social Care and Mental Wellbeing.

Also on the agenda will be discussion sessions on Self-Directed Support, the rights to breaks for carers and the new National Social Work Agency.

The organisers say they hope it will be an engaging and collaborative event.
